100% achievement at Tesco

On Wednesday 19^th September, Tesco staff were presented with their Functional Skills qualification certificates. The presentations were made by Barry Nelson from the Profound Group and Clare Graham from Tesco. Tesco Senior Management team and USDAW representatives were also in attendance. Staff at the Tesco Distribution Site, Goole have achieved 100% pass rate once again.

The distribution site in Goole works in conjunction with USDAW to enable workers to participate in English and maths classes. The site not only supports Tesco staff but also other employers on site including PNP and Mitie employees. They are given time away from work and then match this with their own time.

The class of July 2018 achieved 34 passes in English and Maths. The cohort was represented by 11 nationalities whose home countries extends beyond the European boundaries.

This is the 3^rd group from the site who have successfully passed formal tests. Profound group travel down from their Peterlee base to deliver the qualifications on a weekly basis. Staff at Profound are very impressed at the enthusiasm and driver the learners show to achieve success. This site represent partnership working at its best.
