Business of the Month: Morgan and Quinn

As Morgan and Quinn approaches its 25th anniversary, the proud owners reflect on how far their company has come and what the future holds.

Dennis Morgan and Gary Quinn have been dedicated to providing excellent service, quality and value since they set up their business a quarter of a century ago. Now, over 30 experienced loyal employees form the Morgan and Quinn family, and the duo’s success doesn’t look set to slow down.

Gary, when was Morgan and Quinn founded?
We started the business back in 1991 in order to create a better standard of life for ourselves and our families. We were both working long hours for Allied Carpets and were not getting in until 10pm most nights, which wasn’t ideal, so we decided to take matters into our own hands.

Can you tell us a little bit about the services Morgan and Quinn offer?
We are a flooring and bed retailer. We sell a variety of products including a huge range of carpets, vinyls, laminate, engineered wood and Karndean flooring. We also have a large bed and high-seat chair department.

What makes you different from other similar businesses?
We pride ourselves in delivering excellent customer service and giving customers the best value for money possible. We are also dedicated to maintaining a welcoming, friendly, family-run environment.

Do you have any stand-out moments during your time at Morgan and Quinn that you’d like to share with our readers?
[Laughs] Yes, there is one that still makes us smile. Many years ago now, when the film the Full Monty had just come out, we decided to do an advert where we all stood naked behind a (large) roll of carpet. It went down an absolute storm!

From a business perspective, how do you find the local area?
The local area, and the community within it, is the main reason the company is still going strong 25 years since launching. Our customers are very loyal and we are where we are because of them – we appreciate their custom so much.

What does the future hold for Morgan and Quinn?
The future is looking very bright at Morgan and Quinn. We have recently rebranded and have taken on some new contracts. Its going to be very busy but very exciting for everyone here – we can’t wait.

Morgan and Quinn’s 25th anniversary is coming up soon – how are you celebrating it?
It’s approaching very quickly and it’s hard to believe Morgan and Quinn has been going for a quarter of a century. We have quite a few ideas in the pipelines for how we are going to celebrate it – watch this space!
