Business of the Month: Light Heart Events

We cast the spotlight on local event hire and planning company Light Heart Events.

Offering a wide range of hire and planning services for all event types ranging from children’s parties and weddings to corporate functions, founder and director Ben Franks gives Our Goole a peek behind the doors of the successful business.

Ben, tell us a little about your business and the service you provide:
Light Heart Events was founded in January of 2016. We specialise in the support of public and corporate events through our hire facilities as well as offering planning and sourcing skills to all our customers. We are the only company that we know of that offers discounted planning and hire rates to registered UK charities no matter their cause.

What inspired you into this line of work and to launch your business?
I spent the majority of my life in the Armed Forces. In doing so I saw a great deal of the world that was less fortunate than ourselves. In such areas of the world can be found charitable organisations aiming to help those whom suffer. When I left the military I wanted to apply my military experiences to a line of work that required good organisational skills, honesty and an ability to deal with people from all walks of life, event management and therefore Light Heart was born of this desire. Fundamentally, and after much research I understood the UK event industry to be worth roughly £8billion, within it however charitable organisations are treated, in general, as any other corporate client. And so I bore the principle of Light Heart offering charities help in form of discounted rates.

Have you had any notable milestones/events along the way?
We are now firmly established within the Wedding Day Event field having recently attended and displayed some of our beautiful wedding lighting options at the recent Carlton Towers Wedding Event. We are appearing at the same venue again in October, where we will be showcasing our Photo Box systems to the public.

Do you have any extraordinary stories to share with our readers?
We have a lot. It’s great being able to offer customers systems like our Photo Boxes for hire or our Hot Tubs for example. We encourage photography and some of the pictures we receive are great to see because people enjoy what we provide them, they unwind and have a great time and the pictures we see often show this.

What does the future hold for Light Heart Events?
Light Heart is still very young but its vision is large. I hope to see Light Heart grow for the right reasons in that we offer events costings that are reasonable in comparison to what most people often pay, yet there is no loss in service nor professionalism. In time I would like Light Heart to be the first company considered by UK charities to help with their planning and event hire plans as well as continuing to support Weddings, Parties, Corporate Functions and all other domestic events.

Lastly, what are the main benefits you find to advertising in our magazines?
Distribution levels are good, the canvassing options are reasonably priced and the journey from inquiry to advertisement is smooth and not a murky water, as I have often found elsewhere.
