Performed by Goole theatre company Castaway, Alice: A Musical hits the stage Thursday 8 June – Saturday 10 June.
The production will mark the local company’s first return to live theatre since the Covid pandemic – and promises a wonderful stage adaptation of Alice in Wonderland.
Based on the classic novels by Lewis Carroll, this new version features favourite characters including The White Rabbit, The Mad Hatter & March Hare, Tweedledum & Tweedledee, The Mock Turtle, Caterpillar & the indomitable Queen of Hearts.
The show includes memorable songs, snazzy costumes, and a whole heap of fun!
Alice is played by Libby Greenhill joining all the Castaway regulars for 90 minutes of sheer delight. The show is also set in the round, meaning audiences surround all sides of the stage.
The show has been directed by Robert Readman, with the company’s six-piece Castaway band led by Natalie Walker and lighting and sound design by Adam Moore.
Robert Readman, Director/Manager at Castaway says, “It’s fantastic to return to perform at Junction Goole after 3 years. The cast are raring to go with this delightful re-telling of the famous Alice stories. Flamingo croquet, flying hedgehogs and free Jam tarts – what more could Goole desire?! Don’t miss the fabulous Castaway sprinkling their special magic once again.”
