February Business of the month: Saul Todd of North Computers

With a long and exceptional trading history and a huge repeat customer base, North Computers were the ideal choice to feature as our very first ‘Business of the Month’.

Director Saul Todd has built up an enviable reputation and a formidable company since he founded his business back in 2002. His enthusiasm, positive attitude and absolute dedication to faultless customer service have seen his company steadily flourish. We caught up with Saul to find out a little about the man behind the business…

Saul, has your business always been based in the Goole area?
Yes, however we do work further afield. I have over 13 years’ experience in the industry (and many more to come), but I’m Yorkshire born and bred and never forget my roots.

Is this what you always wanted to do?
I’ve always wanted to a DJ and music producer and I attended Manchester Music School earlier on. Like most dream careers, it’s extremely hard to make them a reality. I am lucky enough to have done the things I have and still actively practice them as a pastime. I love to learn and thrive on accomplishing targets and goals. I most definitely have job satisfaction, which realistically is what we all crave in life!

Tell us about your industry training:
I am a Microsoft certified professional and specialist, of which I am extremely proud. My training has enabled me to develop within the industry, moving on to things such as complex server installations, maintenance and web design. I am constantly evolving to ensure that I am up to date with the times, which is key in this industry.

How do you find the local area from a business perspective?
Within the current economic climate all businesses, whether large or small, find it a challenge. Throughout the years my client database has become strong and more importantly, the company has become a name people trust and return to.

What other passions drive you forward in life:
I studied music over in Manchester, shortly after I trained and became a qualified personal trainer and nutritionist. Training is a big part of my life to this day – you need to train the body as well as the mind. I also am a qualified electrician, kitchen and bathroom fitter, and I love to snowboard, play football, cook and bake. A real ‘Jack-of-all trades’!

Lastly, what are the main benefits you find to advertising in our magazines?
The main source of my business has come from advertising in local magazines on a regular basis. We want our customers to know we are here and we are here to stay and support them. ‘The great thing about the magazine is that the customer can see we are consistent. We are genuine and we will offer a service second to none. The majority of the customers we have return for repeat business, some I have had for years which is an honour. You guys always supply what you sell which is quite hard to come by! So thank you!’
