Generous schoolgirls raise money for cancer charity

A group of big-hearted ten-year-olds have raised over £100 for Cancer Research UK.

Daisy Mountford, Beau Coleman, Maia Hunt, Georgia Rocket and Abigail Osbourne, all just ten years old, baked buns and cakes which they sold on a stall outside Junction in the town centre.

The five school girls raised £131.90, which they took to the Cancer Research store on Boothferry Road.

Angela Whalley, the store manager, told Our Goole: “We were absolutely elated when the girls came into the shop to donate the money.

“They’ve done a marvellous job and we’re very proud of them for going out of their way to raise money for us. We always fully appreciate any help we receive.”
