Goole Town Councillors are inviting local people to get involved with their park tree planting scheme, and are looking for volunteers from the community to help with the planting and preservation of the trees.
Thanks to funding from the East Riding Windfarm, the council will be planting over a thousand trees across West Park and South Park, Goole.
Project lead, Councillor Malcolm Boatman said “We want the community to become involved with the project and in the long term are looking for people to become tree wardens to take care of the trees. We hope that this is the first phase of environmental projects in the parks and hope to build on the success of the scheme in the future.”
Planting at West Park will take place on Sunday 25th February, 10.30am and at South Park on Monday 26th February, 10.30am. People wanting to get involved are invited to join the team on the day, with all equipment provided.
