How to prepare your garden before “Springing” into action

Property expert David Leake of Housesetc discusses the significance of appearance.

Ensuring that your property looks fantastic indoors is always important but it’s crucial to spare a thought for your garden.

During the cold winter months, gardens can often become neglected, so here are a few top tips to ensure that it blossoms.

Lawns
Kerb appeal is everything! Your front garden is the first and last aspect any viewer will see.

Garden lights
External PIR floodlights are great, particularly for property viewings at dusk or after dark. Solar lights look pretty and are cheap to buy.

Garages and sheds
Make sure your garage, shed and fences are presentable.

Jet-wash surfaces
Jet-wash all paving, steps, decking and fascias.

House numbers & names
House numbers should be fresh and clear. This will also help when viewers are trying to find your property, particularly at night.

Neighbour’s garden
Bad feedback concerning ‘the state of the next door neighbour’s lawn’ could scupper your sale so why not offer to help out and tidy it for them? It pays to be a good neighbour!
