Following the events in Brussels earlier today (Tuesday, March 22, 2016), the Deputy Chief Constable for Humberside Police Garry Forsyth said:
“Our thoughts are with all those people who have been affected by the atrocities in Brussels today.
“As a precaution, Humberside Police, along with every other force across the UK, has increased policing presence at key locations including transport hubs, to protect the public and provide reassurance.
“This is not in response to any specific intelligence or information however the threat level in the UK remains severe.
“Humberside Police will continue to liaise closely with our colleagues nationally to monitor the situation.
“In the meantime, we urge the public and businesses to remain alert and to report anything suspicious to the confidential Anti Terrorist Hotline on 0800 789 321 or in an emergency ring 999.”
