The summer holiday’s are in full swing, but you may be running out of ideas of how to keep your kids entertained. Well panic not, The Deep at Hull has an answer to your worries!
Get your hands stuck in our very own ‘turtle hospital’ where youngsters can get up close with a giant turtle (a cuddly one, of course) and find out what it takes to look after our flipper-ed friends. Learn all about turtle anatomy and even help the team carry out a turtle health check. Inspect their eyes, nose and mouth, as well as checking their flippers and shell then report back to us on your vet examination form.
Take part in the turtle trail and find out about more about the species that live all around the world and the challenges they face.
Enjoy interactive presentations from our guiding team at 11am, 1pm and 3pm and get your face painted in Craft Corner from 11am to 4pm. Plus The Deep is giving you the chance the put your questions to our Turtle Keepers via their Facebook page each week. So get your thinking caps on!
Visitors to the turtle hospital will also receive exciting discounts in the shop, so it’s the perfect time to take home your own cuddly turtle to care for.
The turtle hospital is just one of the activities you can get involved in at The Deep this Summer. You can also meet the mangroves, see the penguins being fed, watch the divers in action, and get up close to some of the smaller species such as starfish and sea urchins.
The event is on until the 1st September so make sure you pop down to The Deep this Summer for a turtle-y awesome time.
