The £300,000 project to refurbish the Tone Zone at East Riding Leisure Goole has been completed, and the new-look facility is now open.
The leisure centre has also launched its new programme of exercise classes, offering 50 classes a month, including three new Les Mills activities: Body Combat (Tuesdays), CX Worx (Weds) and Body Balance (Thurs), plus a new Body Conditioning class on Wednesdays.
The centre has reopened with two special offers: two months’ free membership for any referrals made by members, and non-members can take advantage of a free gym session, class and coffee – the offers are valid until 12 September.
Councillor Richard Burton, portfolio holder for civic wellbeing and culture, said: “I am delighted that we have been able to invest in the refurbishment of this popular facility, which has allowed us to bring in state of the art equipment, letting our customers in Goole try out the same superb gear which has proved so popular elsewhere.
“This is a real investment in the future health and fitness of the people of Goole.”
The new 70-station Tone Zone also features a new TRX wall like the one which has proved so popular at East Riding Leisure Beverley, offering a wide range of exercises for people of all ages and abilities. The new equipment in the Tone Zone includes the latest gear that has been installed at East Riding Leisure Haltemprice, Beverley, Withernsea and Bridlington. It features Virtual Active software which allows users to run or cycle through the Rocky Mountains or French Alps.
The popular spin studio has also been refurbished with new cycles and new flooring.
East Riding Leisure Goole is a recent winner of the most improved leisure centre accolade in a national awards competition.
