A man has sustained serious, life-changing injuries following a collision between a car and a forklift on the A161 Bridge Street in Goole at approximately 8.20pm on Wednesday, February 3, 2016.
The blue MG was carrying one front seat passenger, along with the driver at the time of the incident. The passenger, a man in his 40s, was taken to Hull Royal Infirmary and a spokesperson for Humberside Police confirmed today (February 4) that he has sustained serious, life-changing injuries.
A 27-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of driving over the prescribed alcohol limit and other motoring offences and has been detained for police questioning.
Road closures were put in place to allow a thorough examination of the scene and recovery of the vehicles. The scene was cleared at approximately 3am.
The driver of the forklift truck was uninjured.
