“Oh yes, it is!”: Panto comes to Goole Library in partnership with Back to Ours

Goole Library will be hosting the pantomime, ‘The New Adventures of Peter Pan’ this March for residents of Goole and the surrounding areas.

Taking place on Saturday, 2 March, there will be two performances of the pantomime, one at 11am and one at 2pm.

In partnership with Hull-based organisation, Back to Ours, the pantomime aims to encourage Goole residents to visit the library, both those who use it frequently and those who haven’t used it before.

The pantomime, produced by Gary Starr Productions, will follow Peter Pan on his adventures in Neverland as he tries to outwit the villainous Captain Hook. Featuring favourite characters, and some magical songs, this wonderful story will be brought to life for all the family to enjoy.

Hayley Nicholson, librarian at Goole Library, said: “We can’t wait to welcome everyone to our library and have some swashbuckling fun!

“We host so many events at our library and people travel from all over to come to them, but we really want to give the people of Goole the opportunity to come along and enjoy a cheap day of theatre and fun at the library!”

Councillor Nick Coultish, East Riding of Yorkshire Council’s Cabinet member for culture, leisure and tourism, said: “This is great news for Goole! I really hope that local people will come along and enjoy what promises to be a fabulous local production!”

Louise Yates, CEO and artistic director of Back to Ours, added: “These events are an opportunity for the library to explore different kinds of entertainment and encourage the community to get involved. This is organised by people of Goole for the people of Goole and we can’t wait to get stuck in and see everyone there!”

Tickets for ‘The New Adventures of Peter Pan’ are £3 per person, and can be purchased directly from Goole Library, or over the phone at (01405) 762187 for collection at the library.
