During the last few months twelve-year-old Charlie Atkins from Goole has been preparing hard for the new Motostar British Championship, a support class of the British Superbike series for the 2016 season.
Apart from testing the new Honda NSF250R that he will ride for the season, Charlie has also been preparing himself for a twenty round motorcycle racing series that takes in such iconic tracks such as Silverstone, Brands Hatch and Donington Park. With this in mind the family recently appointed Peter Eccles, a personal trainer.
Eccles is involved with Formula Fitness in Pontefract where he runs his Elite Fitness personal training programme. He will be responsible for Charlie’s fitness training and will also provide the youngster with nutritional advice throughout the season. In addition, Eccles will be on hand each race weekend to assist Charlie with the motivational and mental side of performing at his best. Eccles is no stranger to the British Superbike Championship as he already works with Honda Racing rider Dan Linfoot.
Peter Eccles told Our Goole: “I have never met a 13-year-old as professional and mature as Charlie is. He is super focused and coachable.”
