Hundreds of runners now take part in the parkrun held at West Park, Goole, every Saturday morning and now the weather is warming up it’s the perfect time to give it a go.
Goole parkrun averages around 100 runners each Saturday morning, starting their 5k run at 9am.
Chantelle Smith, event director, said: “Parkrun is a great community event to join and it is completely free and suitable for all abilities. It’s a great way to become more fit and healthy as well as being a good way to socialise. Anyone with spare time can also help volunteer and make friends at the same time.
“Bring your buggies and your dogs to your local community event, build confidence and develop skills in the open air. We all run for enjoyment so please come along and join in whatever your pace; walk, jog or run.”
The course takes you on two and a half laps of the park, starting on the tarmac path near the car park. Chantelle added: “Every week we grab a post parkrun coffee in West Park Café, please come and join us!”
It’s completely free but you need to register before your first run. For more information and to register go to www.parkrun.org.uk
