Shaun’s lifetime community efforts are recognised

In February, Goole local Shaun Pinchbeck was recognised for his outstanding community efforts, receiving the Lifetime Achievement award at the Goole & Howdenshire Business Excellence Awards 2019. Following his win, we caught up with Shaun as he reflected on his personal accolade.

Shaun, Director at Heptonstalls Ltd, Solicitor and member of the Goole Business Group, received the Lifetime Achievement Award at the Goole and Howdenshire Business Excellence Awards 2019.

After nearly 30 years working in the community, Shaun has been involved in a number of initiatives in Goole, helping local businesses and groups in any way he can. Part of the Goole Business Group and the Goole and Local Area Growth Partnership, Shaun’s longstanding efforts have been rewarded with the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award.

The Director has also recently become Chair of Westfield Banks Sports Complex, just one of many local initiatives he is proud to be a part of.

Our Goole caught up with Shaun to see why he is so passionate about helping the community.

“Personally, I like to try and raise the profile of Goole, and give people some more ambition as to what can be achieved. I believe Goole has so many great opportunities, and that it has not fully fulfilled its potential. The town has excellent logistics and is easily accessible; so it is clear to see that Goole is moving in the right direction.”

After receiving the award at the Goole and Howdenshire Business Awards, Shaun admitted he was honoured, but above all shocked when he was called on stage to receive the accolade.

“I was very surprised, that was my immediate reaction, I was in a lot of shock. It was a real surprise and a great honour to be presented with the Lifetime Achievement award.

“Having worked in Goole for nearly three decades and supported various business groups within that time, I’ve always felt that there are some terrific opportunities for businesses in Goole and I’m keen to do what I can to help the area prosper.”

Chairman of the awards committee, Garrey Haase, was also full of praise for Shaun, saying: “I was delighted when the committee proposed Shaun for this prestigious award. I have had the pleasure of working with Shaun for the last 10 years on the awards as well as many other projects and I have seen first-hand the great dedication and effort he puts into everything he does.

“Shaun is a very worthy winner of the Tim Richardson Lifetime Achievement Award and I know he will continue for many years to strive to improve Goole and Howdenshire in anyway he can.”
