This weekend, thousands of people will be lacing up their trainers and running ten kilometres through Hull City Centre, to raise money for a number of different charities. One of those charities, in particular, is Jerry Green Dog Rescue.

Working across three counties to rescue, care for and re-home abandoned and unwanted dogs, Jerry Green Dog Rescue is pioneering in it’s approach to matching rescue dogs with their new families and has found forever homes for over 1,000 dogs in the last twelve months. Rachel Robins, Fundraising Officer, told Our Goole: ‘We are delighted to be a partner charity for the Hull 10K. It’s such a fantastic event, enjoyed by all, and it raises huge sums of money for various charities each year’.

Launched in 2009, the ‘Jane Tomlinson Run For All Hull 10K’ brings together thousands of runners, joggers, and walkers, from across the region. This year, supporters throughout Yorkshire and beyond have signed up to run the Hull 10K in aid of the dog rescue centre. Jonathon Welch, one of the Hull 10K participants running in aid of Jerry Green Dog Rescue said: ‘It’s an excellent cause – I’m proud to be raising money for Jerry Green Dog Rescue. Knowing the difference it will make to rescue dog’s lives is going to keep me motivated during the race.’

The event will take place on Sunday 18th of June, with the route taking runners through Hull’s vibrant city centre. Expect to see lots of runners sporting their Jerry Green Dog Rescue vests, and lots of supporters cheering them on. Rachel Robins continued: ‘We would like to wish everyone taking part good luck and every success with their fundraising. We will see you at the finish line!’
