Green Team volunteer, Andy Barrett, took part in a solo fundraising effort this time last year, pushing a lawn mower named Rudolph 100 miles in just over five days to raise money for two local charities.

The Green Team and Castaways, which Andy says are ‘both close to his heart’, will once again benefit from his efforts, as he aims to complete 125 miles by the end of this week, walking around Goole and Howden with his trusty mower, collection donations and handing out sweets to children.

Andy said: “Thanks to everyone for their kind donations and comments so far, it’s really mind blowing how kind folk are. This isn’t about a random bloke doing something daft for one week, it’s about the two amazing charities who improve our area every day.”

If you see Andy out and about, please give him a hoot, take a selfie with him and if you can, throw some spare change into his bucket to raise funds for these two fantastic charities.
