Entries are now open for the prestigious Goole and Howdenshire Business Awards 2017, and companies across the area are being invited to enter what has become one of the region’s key business events of the year.
The Awards ceremony, which is in it’s seventh year, celebrates the best of local businesses and encompasses companies large and small, from hairdressers and beauticians, gardeners, shop owners and trades people, to locally-based international businesses.
And with 10 categories to choose from, this year’s awards are set to become a major boost to the wider profile of local businesses and the key roles they play in the regional economy.
Business Awards committee member, Janet Mellor, said: “Last year we had a record number of entries and this year is likely to be even better still as the reputation of the event continues to grow,”
“It is open to everyone who runs a business, from the sole trader and small shops with maybe one part time employee, to companies who represent a large and vital sector of the region’s economic growth.
“The Awards represent all kinds and sizes of businesses in the area and strongly believes that they all deserve to be recognised.”
This year’s awards include Small Business of the Year alongside categories that celebrate innovation, customer excellence, new businesses and contributions to the community.
Anyone entering the awards is encouraged to enter more than one category to best showcase their strengths and skills.
The organisers are also urging those who have previously made it to the short list or become category winners to enter the 2017 awards to demonstrate their ever increasing skills, top-notch customer relations or their impact on the local community.
The black tie event, which is held at Goole High School, has steadily grown in size and status since it was launched in 2010.
Each year it receives widespread support and sponsorship from the broader business sector, which recognises the impact of local success stories on the region’s economic profile.
The awards will be hosted by the BBC’s Harry Gration and staged by the Awards Committee in partnership with the Hull and Humber Chamber of Commerce.
