Goole Hospital has come out on top once again as patients have taken part in a survey rating staff and services at hospitals in Goole, Scunthorpe and Grimsby on behalf of Northern Lincolnshire and Goole NHS Foundation Trust.

All of the patients completing the survey based on their experience at Goole hospital said they would recommend the service, meanwhile at Scunthorpe and Grimsby hospitals 97 per cent said they would.

From friendly staff who listen, to clean wards and good food, patients have been singing the praises of their local NHS. The latest data published by NHS England is for April 2016 and is based on responses from 1,445 patients, a fifth of those eligible.

Recent comments on the survey include:

Goole:

(Ward 3 – medicine): They are very good, nothing was too much trouble, nurses were very fantastic, also main doctor was very kind and listened to you, also the food was really nice. It was like a private hospital.

(Ward 6 -surgery): From the start of my diagnosis to my eventual operation and aftercare, I have nothing but praise for the clinical excellence I was afforded. The dedicated teams on ward 6 & 7 have been first class. Thank you.

Community services: The physiotherapist involved was very professional, friendly and we had complete confidence in her capability and advice.

Scunthorpe:

(Ward 23): All the staff were very friendly, didn’t matter what you wanted or needed to know nothing was too much trouble, very happy ward.

(Ward 26 – maternity): Dads can stay 9-9pm which is fab – they need time to bond too. Staff are brilliant, nothing’s too much trouble. So helpful with everything. A lot of care given.

Grimsby:

(Acute medical unit): After visiting many wards over the years, I found this one the cleanest, and the staff from the doctors to the cleaners are very obliging and very knowledgeable.

Patients can take part in the survey the survey by filling in a card at the hospital, answering online at www.nlg.nhs.uk/patient-feedback  and can also expect an automated phone call after they have been discharged asking them to rate the service.
