Temporary closure of Goole Library in the New Year for repairs

East Riding of Yorkshire Council has announced that Goole Library will be closing temporarily in the new year so that the floor can be replaced.

The Library will close at 4pm on Saturday, 8 January, 2022, with work starting on Monday, 10 January. The closure is scheduled to last up to four weeks.

The nearest alternative services are Howden and Snaith Libraries. For full details of their opening hours, visit https://www.eastriding.gov.uk/leisure/libraries/

The Library in Goole is expected to re-open at 9.30am on Monday, 7 February, 2022.

Customers are reminded that East Riding Libraries are also online; to join online, visit https://www.eastridinglibraries.co.uk/memberships/ and for easy step by step guides to get set up for the digital library services for eBooks, Audiobooks, Newspapers and Magazines, visit https://www.eastridinglibraries.co.uk/libraries-online/

During the closure period, access to Goole Museum will still be possible via a temporary entrance, and some of the Library groups will continue in the Museum’s Education Room. There will also be a book drop available at the entrance.

An East Riding of Yorkshire Council spokesperson said : “We apologise in advance for the inconvenience caused by this temporary closure in Goole for these essential works. We hope that many of our customers will be able to access our online library services during the closure period, and we look forward to welcoming them back in person in February.”
