Three men, from Winterbourne near Bristol and Banbridge in County Down, were arrested in Goole on Wednesday 7 August, on suspicion of being bogus tradesmen as they were reported as selling televisions from the back of a van in the Newport and Goole area.
The men are currently in custody and we want to know if anyone else has bought or been offered TVs in similar circumstances?
If you have been offered televisions or goods from men trading from a vehicle in the East Riding over the past few days please call Humberside Police on the non-emergency number 101 quoting reference 16/90513/19.
Remember – if something seems too good to be true – it probably is. Buying goods from door to door salesmen is fraught with danger, the goods may be stolen, faulty and are unlikely to have any recourse if a fault develops. They often come without guarantees and the quality and safety of the goods cannot be verified.
