Come along to one of the Goole Adult Learning Centre’s new gardening courses and start a new hobby today.
The centre is piloting two new gardening courses – growing your own produce and gardening for health and wellbeing – and is pleased to be able to offer local residents a free taster session before they commit to booking onto a main course.
Try Gardening for Health and Wellbeing - Monday, 26 February – 1-3pm
Switch off and relax from the pressures of everyday life! Over a relaxing two hours come along and plant some pots of spring bedding plants that you can take home, nurture and enjoy. Learn the basics of plant care and find out more about ways that gardening can improve your physical and mental wellbeing.
Try Growing Produce – Monday, 26 February - 10am-12noon
If you’re interested in growing your own, but not sure where to start, come along to this introductory taster session and try growing some pots of salad, produce and herbs. Learn about the possibilities that your garden, yard or windowsill hold for growing your own and find out about the range of gardening courses that we have on offer. Take home what you make on the day.
Our ‘Try’ courses are designed to help local residents make the right decision about whether adult learning is right for them.
Over two hours, potential learners will get an idea of what goes on in a classroom, what adult learning is like and meet one of our fantastic tutors. There’s no pressure to commit to anything further and you may just find something that you really enjoy.
Booking is essential to join a taster course.
To find out more and book, visit www.eastriding.gov.uk/learn (search gardening), call the Goole Adult Learning Centre on (01482) 392844 or visit in person at Pasture Road, DN14 6DP.
When you book onto a main course, financial help and additional support may also be available. Please ask for details at the time of booking and about any other support that might be available.
